Safety Patrol Leadership Camp
 

 

We are proud to announce that the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio will be sponsoring the 39th Annual Leadership Camp for School Safety Patrol Leaders, once again. The camp will be held September 8, 9 & 10, 2010 at Storer Camp in Jackson, Michigan.

Below you will find a brief description of the program and an application for your Patrol Captains. (If your school has more than one Captain/Lieutenant, make additional copies of the original). This application and a $45.00 registration fee for each Leader, which covers all expenses, should be sent to the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio.

Pertinent camp information will be sent to you and each Leader in August, along with notices of departure and arrival location and times.

We sincerely hope that your school will take part in this educational camp this year. Due to limited space, we will be accepting applications and fees in the order they are received. Even if you do not have the name(s) of your Leader(s) by the end of the current school year, make the reservation anyway and a space will be held for your school. Cancellations must be received by August 30th in order to receive a refund.

Past camps have shown this to be a most worthwhile experience for the Safety Patrol Leaders. The knowledge gained from these workshops is immeasurable and will help build a stronger patrol within your school. If you have any questions, please contact the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio.

 

Safety Patrol Leaders (boys and girls) from all public and parochial schools in the Toledo and surrounding areas will attend this camp.

WHERE: The campsite will be the YMCA – Storer Camp in Jackson, Michigan

WHEN: September 8, 9, & 10, 2010

COST: A $45 registration fee per Leader is the cost paid by the local schools. Sponsors will pay the balance of the cost.

PROGRAM:
Patrol Leaders will be coached in leadership development, and in the operation and responsibilities of the patrol. Police & School Personnel will administer all workshops.

Recreation will be included as part of the program.

CABIN LEADERS:
Volunteer high school and college students will act as Lodge Counselors and Recreation Leaders.

TRANSPORTATION:
Chartered busses will be provided to and from the camp from the pick-up and drop off location.

CAPACITY: 88 Captains in this workshop.

Informational packets will be mailed in August for those that reply.

Please remit payment for $45 payable to the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio for each Leader registered no later than September 2nd.

If you cannot meet the deadline, but still would like to attend, please call the Safety Council Office at (419) 662-7777 ext 231 to reserve your space. If payment not received, the space will be forfeited.
